| Alfred Gordon Prior to joining the firm, Al worked for five years as a trial attorney for the General Counsel of the Federal Labor Relations Authority, where he was named the General Counsel’s national employee of the year in his first full year with the agency. He has also worked as a legal writer and managing editor for a national legal publishing firm and has served as contributor and editor of a number of labor and employment publications, including the Union Contract Law Bulletin and Practical Dispute Resolution. Local 2322, IBEW v. Verizon New England, Inc., 464 F.3d 93 (1st Cir. 2006) (court upheld Union’s action in bringing arbitration matter back to the arbitrator for clarification). Bradley v. City of Lynn, 443 F.Supp.2d 145 (D. Mass. 2006) (overturning the Commonwealth’s firefighter entrance examination as discriminatory). IBEW, Local 2326 and Vermont Telephone Company, Inc., 348 NLRB No. 91 (2006) (successfully defended Union that refused to sign agreement that the Company had improperly modified). Pacini v. City of Medford, Civil Service Commission (Commission overturned bypass of firefighter applicant passed over in favor of Fire Chief’s son). Ocean State Jobbers, Inc. and UFCW, Local 328, 345 NLRB No. 109 (2005) (won reinstatement for employees who had been terminated for union organizing). NFFE, Local 1442 and U.S. Dept. of the Army, Letterkenny Army Depot, 58 FLRA 685 (2003) (successfully prosecuted federal employer that unilaterally closed daycare center; Union’s victory affirmed on appeal to court).
